Winnie the Pooh character


Winnie the Pooh character is a fictional character in books, films, television and merchandise that has become popular among children and adults. He is known as the lovable bear who's stuffed with fluff.

History
The inspiration for Winnie the Pooh character ,came from a combination of a black bear named Winnie at the London zoo, and a teddy bear owned by Milne's son. The character Christopher Robin is based on Milne's son and the other characters were his son's toys, with the exception of Rabbit and Owl.

The first book about Winnie the Pooh was written in 1926, followed by The House on Pooh Corner in 1928, with Ernest Shepard as the illustrator.

The rights to Pooh and his friends were purchased by Disney in 1966, where they have been featured in television programs, films and products.
